Constant_V is a series of small-scale installations in the window of the Constant office. These installations are sometimes accompanied by a workshop led by the artist(s) in order to focus not only on the finished product, but also on the process of creation. They give the opportunity to discover the motivations, the techniques or other aspects of a work.
Constant_V uses our front window as a membrane; it showcases artists and projects connected to Constant. Constant_V prefers showing works that are in progress, giving visibility to the conceptual, technical and collaborative work that goes into the creation of an artwork. Constant_V shows works that are made with Free Software and / or distributed under open content licenses. This way Constant_V offers passers by insight in the world of F/LOSS arts.

Constant_V est une série d’installations à petite échelle dans la vitrine du bureau de Constant. Ces installations sont accompagnées parfois par des ateliers animés par le ou les artiste(s) afin de mettre l’accent pas seulement sur le produit fini, mais aussi sur le processus de création subsistent. Ce sont des occasions de découvrir les motivations, les techniques ou d’autres aspects d’une œuvre.
Constant_V transforme la vitrine de notre bureau en membrane en présentant des artistes et des projets reliés à Constant. Les œuvres montrées sont en préférence en cours de création, ce qui permet de donner de la visibilité au travail conceptuel, technique et collaborative qui se cache derrière le processus créatif. Constant_V présente des œuvres qui sont réalisées avec des logiciels libres et distribuées sous Licence Art Libre. De cette façon Constant_V offre aux passants un aperçu dans le monde de l’art F/LOSS.
Les œuvres numériques présentées sont aussi très différentes; elles vont de la vidéo à des œuvres interactives, de la conception graphique aux machines hackées et aux prototypes.

DiVersions engaged with the potential of on-line cultural heritage for welcoming various forms of collaboration, allowing conflicts to show up, and make space for other narratives. In dialogue with cultural institutions and their collections, the project experimented with digitized and digital heritage to open up databases, metadata, catalogs and digital infrastructures for other imaginations.

How to Cypher Sex: A Manual for Collective Digital Self-Defense Guides lays out strategies on how to write locally-oriented digital self-defense guides aimed at empowering LGBTQ* people, women, and sex workers. Constant supported the collective Cypher Sex in the making of this "how to" manual. The manual is intended to help the writing of localised guides with basic outlines, resources, links, suggested approaches and interview questions relevant to different international locations that advocate self-empowerment through online identity management and other digital self-defence strategies.
Cypher Sex is a queer feminist collective aimed at empowering LGBTQ* people, women, and sex workers in their use of online services and digital tools through workshops, guides, and personalized consultancies.

Constant a soutenu le collectif Cypher Sex dans la réalisation de ce manuel. This article examines Constant’s many literary collaborations with machinic agents.
"Working with machines as literary companions in the network of Constant also includes studying the machine, the dataset, and the process. This means that the literary quality of these works is dependent on how much the machine is taken seriously as a literary companion. In other words, the circumstances are created for this companion to narrate “its” point of view in the most critical way possible, rather than using the tool to create digital stories. The creation of spaces for exchange, collective experimenting, and sharing – in, for example, Constant’s worksessions or the Algolit meetings – allows for a kind of versioning effect in the resulting works."

"In a wide array of materials and methods, from thermal printers to talking servers and “algoliterary” poetry, many forms of publications come out of Constant’s projects and networks. The SPLINT Cards is a card deck game designed to help collective imagination for speculative, intersectionally feminist and libre technologies from/for the future. This game was inspired by The Oracle for Transfeminist Technologies, which incited Constant to make-up its own version of the game.
SPLINT (Speculative Libre Intersectional Technologies) is a term invented to signal Constant's commitment to answer the question: What could/should free and intersectional technologies do? More specifically, what kinds of devices and practices could address and counteract the systemic discriminations, oppressions and exclusions at play in today's technologies? SPLINT explores the potential of technology for artistic practice and vice versa, at the intersection of intersectional feminism and open source software. SPLINT investigates the discriminations and structural problems inherent in technology, and nurtures the imagination and imaginative capacity of techno-realities that can contribute to an open, experimental and equitable digital art field.

Les cartes SPLINT sont un jeu de cartes conçu pour favoriser l'imagination collective en matière de technologies spéculatives, intersectionnellement féministes et libres du/pour le futur. Ce jeu a été inspiré par The Oracle for Transfeminist Technologies, qui a incité Constant à créer sa propre version du jeu.
SPLINT (Speculative Libre Intersectional Technologies) est un terme inventé pour signaler l'engagement de Constant à répondre à la question : Que pourraient/devraient faire les technologies libres et intersectionnelles ? Plus précisément, quels types de dispositifs et de pratiques pourraient aborder et contrecarrer les discriminations systémiques, les oppressions et les exclusions en jeu dans les technologies d'aujourd'hui ? SPLINT explore le potentiel de la technologie pour la pratique artistique et vice versa, à l'intersection du féminisme intersectionnel et des logiciels libres. A Traversal Network of Feminist Servers (ATNOFS) was a project initiated by Varia, Hypha, Lurk, esc medien kunst lab, Feminist Hack Meetings and Constant. It took place throughout the year 2022 in six diferent European locations, across various internet cables and with a small local server named rosa.
ATNOFS was a collaborative project formed around intersectional, feminist, ecological servers whose communities travelled between each other to share and extend their knowledges through live gatherings. ATNOFS argued that such plaforms and tools are necessary to navigate our communications and cultural growth beyond the current media oligopolies, and democratise cultural and political expression outside obscure, bureaucratic algorithms and advertising monetisation.
After a litle more than a year of many virtual and physical meetings filled with conversations, experimentations, collective writing, chit-chat and shared meals, the project was wrapped up in the form of this publication.

Il s'est déroulé tout au long de l'année 2022 dans six lieux européens différents, à travers divers câbles Internet et avec un petit serveur local nommé rosa.
ATNOFS était un projet collaboratif autour de serveurs intersectionnels, féministes et écologiques dont les communautés voyageaient entre elles pour partager et étendre leurs connaissances par le biais de rassemblements en direct. ATNOFS soutenait que de telles plateformes et de tels outils sont nécessaires pour naviguer dans nos communications et notre croissance culturelle au-delà des oligopoles médiatiques actuels, et pour démocratiser l'expression culturelle et politique en dehors de l'obscurité bureaucratique et de la monétisation publicitaire.
Après un peu plus d'un an de réunions virtuelles et physiques remplies de conversations, d'expérimentations, d'écriture collective, de bavardages et de repas partagés, le projet s'est achève sous la forme de cette publication.

Het vond plaats gedurende het jaar 2022 op zes verschillende Europese locaties, via verschillende internetkabels en met een kleine lokale server genaamd rosa.
ATNOFS was een samenwerkingsproject rond intersectionele, feministische, ecologische servers waarvan de gemeenschappen tussen elkaar reisden om hun kennis te delen en uit te breiden door middel van live bijeenkomsten. ATNOFS stelde dat dergelijke vormen en gereedschappen nodig zijn om onze communicatie en culturele groei voorbij de huidige mediaoligopolies te navigeren en culturele en politieke expressie te democratiseren buiten de obscure bureaucratische algoritmen en het reclamegeld.
Na iets meer dan een jaar van vele virtuele en fysieke ontmoetingen vol gesprekken, experimenten, collectief schrijven, kletsen en gezamenlijke maaltijden, werd het project afgerond in de vorm van deze publicatie.
