Puerto is a hospitable place in the centre of Brussels where homeless people can find help if they want to live independently. Every Monday they are welcome to come and eat a three course meal, prepared by a volunteer, at an affordable price. This book collects more than 70 easy, delicious and cheap recipes that are the delights of the volunteers and Puerto guests.

Together with these volunteers and Puerto guests, Open Source Publishing wrote, designed, translated and illustrated a precious cookbook with more than 70 easy, delicious and cheap recipes. All benefits went to Puerto.
Puerto est un centre d’accueil au coeur de Bruxelles pour les sans domicile fixe. Chaque lundi, les occupants peuvent manger un repas composé de trois plats, préparé par un bénévole, à un prix abordable. Ce livre reprend plus de 70 recettes faciles, délicieuses et bon marché, une sélection faite par les bénévoles et les habitués.

This book collects the words, real or invented, that were captured in the neighbourhood Bosnia in Saint-Gilles. The extra-ordinary words are overlapping in French and Dutch, words we merge, hybridize, invent, “acronymise”. The audio recordings remain online in a sound database. The collection provides a sound portrait of this multicultural neighbourhood as it existed from September 2013 till September 2015.

Parlez-vous Saint-Gillois? collected the words, real or invented, that were captured in the neighbourhood Bosnia in Saint-Gilles. The EXTRA-ORDINARY words are overlapping in French and Dutch, words we merge, hybridize, invent, “acronymise”. The audio recordings remain online in a sound database. The collection provides a sound portrait of this multicultural neighbourhood as it existed from September 2013 till September 2015.
The publication Parlez-vous Saint-Gillois? is a dictionary with words from the database, as well as a space for experimentations based on the spoken language of the Bosnia neighbourhood, and the different creations, activities and encounters that took place during the project.
Project coordinator Clémentine Delahaut and graphic designer Alexia De Visscher realised a cartographical diagramme that illustrates the relationships between the words, people and places nearby. In the introduction Peter Westenberg extends on the questiosn of multiculturality and plurilinguism in Brussels and how they have been appraoched in the project of Parlez-vous Saint-Gillois. Several artists and writers contributed to the publication, such as Jara Rocha, Madeleine Aktypi, Rafaella Houlstan-Hasaert, Dr Lichic, Mathieu Berger.

Spreekt U Sint-Gillis? was een project dat bijzondere woorden verzamelde uit de wijk Bosnië in Sint-Gillis, Brussel. Het ging om bestaande en verzonnen woorden, acroniemen en hybrides die het Franse en/of Nederlandse woordenboek overstijgen. De woorden zijn verzameld in een online geluidsdatabank. Samen vormen ze een auditief portret van de wijk zoals die bestond tussen september 2013 tot september 2015.
De publicatie is tegelijkertijd een onorthodox woordenboek, een manier om meerdere facetten van het project te ontdekken, en ze biedt ruimte voor experiment en speculatie rondom gesproken taal in de multiculturele buurt Bosnië.
Grafisch vormgeefster Alexia De Visscher en coördinatrice Clémentine Delahaut realiseerden een diagram dat de relaties zichtbaar maakt tussen de woorden, de mensen en de plekken in de buurt. In de inleiding legt Peter Westenberg verband tussen het project en de meertaligheid en multiculturaliteit in Brussel. Verschillende kunstenaars en schrijvers, waaronder Jara Rocha, Madeleine Aktypi, Rafaella HoulstanHasaert, Dr Lichic, en Mathieu Berger droegen bij aan de publicatie.

Mots de la Cage aux Ours/Woorden uit de Berenkuil is a collection of spoken words used by different groups around the Place Verboekhoven, aka La Cage aux Ours. The words are also part of the online sound dictionary of La Langue Schaerbeekoise / De Schaerbeekse Taal, a project that took place under the Contrat de Quartier Durable Navez-Portaels between 2009 and 2012. The project aimed to promote social cohesion between different communities while reflecting the linguistic wealth around the Cage aux Ours.
Arabic, Turkish, Berber, Dutch, Brussels, Swahili, Spanish, Polish are just a selection of the variety of languages that season the French, the current language of the neighborhood. The Dictionary of Language Schaerbeekoise fed on these influences, it is open, flexible and organic. The selection of words was based on the intuition of the three artists coordinators of the project: Clémentine Delahaut, Peter Westenberg and An Mertens.

Mots de la Cage aux Ours/Woorden uit de Berenkuil est un dictionnaire hors du commun qui reprend des mots de la langue parlée dans le quartier de la Place Verboekhoven à Schaerbeek. Le choix des mots a été dicté par l’intuition de trois artistes de Constant – Clémentine Delahaut, Peter Westenberg, An Mertens - lors de leurs rencontres avec des habitants du quartier entre 2009 et 2012, dans le cadre du Contrat de Quartier Navez-Portaels. Chaque mot est accompagné de la phrase enregistrée où le mot a été entendu pour la première fois, et la plupart des mots – pas tous – sont expliqués à l’aide d’une définition apportée par la personne qui nous a offert le mot. Malgré l’intention de créer un dictionnaire, la nature humaine, les bons récits et le déroulement de l’entretien l’ont souvent emporté sur la forme, ce qui fait de Tsjehiler ! Mots de la Cage aux Ours une curiosité dans le genre des dictionnaires. Vendim?

Mots de la Cage aux Ours/Woorden uit de Berenkuil is een verzameling van woorden uit de spreektaal op en rond het Verboekhovenplein in Schaarbeek. Geen nostalgie naar het Brussels dialect, maar een weerspiegeling van de taalkundige mengelmoes die er leeft. De keuze van de woorden werd bepaald door de intuïtie van drie kunstenaars van Constant – Clémentine Delahaut, Peter Westenberg, An Mertens - tijdens ontmoetingen met bewoners en gebruikers van de Berenkuil tussen 2009 en 2012 in het kader van het Wijkcontract Navez-Portaels. Voor elk woord is de zin opgenomen waarin het woord voor het eerst werd gehoord. Bij de meeste woorden vind je ook een definitie, zoals ze werd gegeven door de bewoner. Niet bij alle woorden: ondanks de intentie om een woordenboek te maken, wonnen de menselijke aard, de sappige verhalen en de flow van het gesprek het vaak van de vorm. Dat maakt van het boek ook een curiosum in het genre van het woordenboek. Vendim? Pipas!
